Well, you’re probably not surprised that I’ve been riding in the Great Cycle Challenge – I finished my planned 400km, but I had ten days still to go in the month, so I added another 100km to my target, because why not?
More surprising, and considerably more inconvenient, my laptop died during the week, and between replacing it and setting up the new one, I’ve got very little productive work done this week. Two steps forward, one step back.
A slow week for me, between my full time job and my riding for the Great Cycle Challenge – indeed, I did a 40km ride yesterday that caused me to be late posting this week’s update. But I’ll be back to regular Sunday posting next week.

This week I have actually done a shitload of work on one of my larger projects… and it was all mostly admin, which while it does help me reach my goals, doesn’t create anything directly visible for you to see. Yet 🙂
I also shared the great Keating! The Musical with some good friends who hadn’t seen it, and got a lot of riding for the Great Cycle Challenge done. And when I say a lot, I mean that on Friday, the tenth day of the challenge, I passed the midpoint of my riding target. I also smashed my fund-raising goal for the year, taking my all time funds raised over the nine years I’ve been doing this to over $10,000.
So I’m not feeling too bad about having very little else to report.
The major thing that’s been happening in this last week, unsurprisingly, is that I’ve been riding up a storm for the Great Cycle Challenge. As of my last ride today, I was at 129.9km completed out of 400km for the month – and I rode that in only 5 days, on three of which I worked a full time shift. I’m honestly rather surprised myself at how quickly I’ve been managing this.
