Trust30 prompts: Come Alive by Jonathan Mead

Life wastes itself while we are preparing to live. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

If you had one week left to live, would you still be doing what you’re doing now? In what areas of your life are you preparing to live? Take them off your To Do list and add them to a To Stop list. Resolve to only do what makes you come alive.

Bonus: How can your goals improve the present and not keep you in a perpetual “always something better” spiral?

One week to live? Well, time to update the will at least. I’m sure I’d spend a little time organising a big sendoff for myself – fortunately, Facebook makes that about 15 minutes. After that, well, there’s people to see, more than anything else. People to say goodbye to, mostly.

But I don’t know that I’d worry too much about reading these books, watching these videos and trying to cut down on caffeine. What else would I do? I really have no idea. I have lots of things I want to do, but most of them are more general job things that I’d like to do, rather than love to do.

I got to think about this some more.
