I picked up this book because I found the author's TED talk (, There’s nothing new here, but it’s a decent reminder. One of those books whose simple message makes for instant palm-to-forehead action. I am also not joking when telling you that this is exactly the kind of book that I was looking for and that it completely exceeded my expectations. Anyway, I don't know anyone who wouldn't benefit from reading this book. Happiness is not an embedded essential attribute which leads to acquiring a competitive edge called the happiness advantage. Achor can't get halfway to making one point in a chapter without running off the horizon in 8 other directions with 12 other anecdotes. I'd rank this among my top 4 favorite business books that are applicable to real life (with "The Power of Habit," "How to Win Friends & Influence People," and "Good to Great"). if anyone have examples of these principles send me.have anyone? Read Wittgenstein's Tractatus to learn how to make a sustained statement succinctly, jeez. This book is one of a growing library of research that supports what I've believed for the past few years: that happiness is a skill you can develop. Individuals above the Losada line tend to be significantly more happy and productive. Also, he's funny. Reading this important book will change the lens through which you view life and will put you on the path to happiness . And maybe it is. But in the end I don't read non-fiction for its writing style, I read it to learn something new about myself and this world. And maybe it is. I was happy before, and now I'm happier. Overall, this is a good, practical and realistic look at the role of happiness in success which also gives ways of achieving it. He is best known for his research reversing the formula of success leading to happiness—his research shows that happiness in fact leads to success. Shawn proposes that happiness is not the product of success, but that success is the product of happiness. Fundamentally, it is the fact that I didn´t write it. The data shows that “happy workers have higher levels of productivity, produce higher sales, perform better in leadership positions, and receive higher performance ratings and higher pay. I’d read plenty before that, of course, but THA opened my eyes to the fact that reading to obtain the right mental models could literally change my life. The book is written with lots of humour but  avoids the new age trends and  book about happiness. I am happy that I haven't gotten to this book earlier and just ignored it as I was ignorant to "self-help" books few years ago(although this is a psychology book!). He is clearly not trying to produce fake-smiling-corporate-zombies. Check it out! He never overstates his case.
